ARCHERY TEAM REQUIREMENTS
TEAM AGREEMENT FORMS
If you were unable to attend the parent information meeting, you may register your child using the registration form on Mustang Archery's landing page under Announcements.
ARCHERY TEAM PARTICIPATION FEE
This fee listed in team paperwork, will help cover tournament expenses, equipment cost of arrows, targets, target faces, score cards, repair equipment and school loaner bows.
EQUIPMENT
We will provide practice and tournament arrows and we will have school bows available. You will not be required to have your own bow or arrows, however they will be necessary for any shooting outside of school practices and we STRONGLY recommend that team archers purchase their own bow. Owning your bow is similar to owning your own golf clubs, baseball glove or bat. It will be difficult for an archer to maintain consistency and accuracy using a school bow in the team competition portion of our NASP program. Each bow shoots differently depending on knock point, draw weight, life cycle of components and arrow rest wear.
See "EQUIPMENT" page for more info.
IMPORTANT: An eye dominance test is required before purchasing a bow to determine if you need a right or left handed bow. Here is a link on how to perform a simple eye dominance test using the aperture method. Most high school archers who have participated in NASP have already done this. However, we will go over this for all new archers and we also have included this in our required in-school curriculum.
TEAM SIZE
The maximum team size 24 archers per team and we may have multiple teams. NASP invitational tournaments allow multiple teams from a single school to enter as well as individual archer entries. Archers maintaining the top 24 average scores will make up team one, at least 4 of which must be of the opposite gender. Team two will be based off the next 24 ranking scores.
TEAM SHIRTS
Students will be provided a team Mustang Archery shirt once the registration fee has been received. (shirt cost included in registration fee).
ATTENDANCE
Since we only practice twice a week the majority of the season, FULL attendance is important. However we also understand (and encourage) the many activities BCMS students have the opportunity to be involved in. We will try to be as flexible as possible. If there is a conflict in your schedule with practice times please let us know and we will make every attempt to come up with a workable solution.
TOURNAMENT ENTRY
Most invitational style tournament entry fees will run between $10 and $20 per archer. The Missouri State, National and World Championship Tournament fees are higher, but each archer also receives a commemorative T-Shirt with their entry.
ELIGIBILITY
We adhere to student academic and citizenship eligibility requirements for this sport as determined by the official NCMS student handbooks. The BCMS competition archery teams are part of the National Archery in the Schools Program and considered a school club activity.
WAIVERS & TEAM PAPERWORK
All waivers and paperwork must be completed online by parents and submitted before students are allowed to participate. These forms will be located under the announcements section on the main page of Campbell's archery web page.
